Upgraded to WordPress 2.9.1

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I’m a bit lazy when it comes to upgrading WordPress. I often have to dig deep for FTP information, download a new FTP program, scratch my head a bit, backup the site, and cross my fingers. I started early tonight when I got home from work, but it ended up taking me until 3 in the morning to get it all worked out.

One thing that surprises me is that the text editor isn’t a WYSIWYG editor. It’s just strait html source code. When I create new posts on WordPress.com, I can see in-line images with a designer. I believe part of the problem may be related to updates that have not been pushed out yet to support the Google Chrome browser.

Anyhow, I’m copying some of the old entries regarding Second Life into my virtual worlds blog. It’s a bit of tedious work.
