High Definition, High Eye Strain

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

So I’ve been playing on my XBox tonight.  I have a nice HDTV connected to it.  I’v noticed myself moving forward closer to the television a lot.  It seems that the small writing is just too much of a strain to read on all the menus and such.  It probably turns out that I need to get my glasses to play.

I finally made it out of the sewers an into the world.  Man … it’s amazing to see the power of a kick-ass gaming console and HDTV at work.  The hills just went on in such a large distance.  I was able to see trees pretty far away and eventually walk up to them.  Water had nice waves and watching the sunset was just breathtaking.

Of course, by next week I’ll probably be bored of it. For some reason, I get bored of games pretty quick.  I don’t know why.  It seems as soon as i’ve figured out the basics of them, they just seem repetitive and nothing new happens.  Well, we shall see.

Second Blogaversary

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

So I’m about an hour away from having my second blogaversary.  7:44 pm, two years ago, I tried my hand at blogging with my first post.  The first year was great.  I was posting like mad.  I tried my best to get a post in about something every day.  Now things have changed.  Ever since my wife introduced me to SecondLife, I’ve been hooked.

There just seems to be too much time involved with blogging.  SecondLife has a larger value for entertainment.  I’m able to be just as creative there, but in a 3-dimensional space.  Hopefully soon we will get web pages displayed on our prims.  For rite now, I can only blog through my watch over on SLStats.com.

Any how, my mother in-law purchased an XBox 360 live for me today.  I picked up a wireless adapter for it and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.  I’m still trying to get the thing to connect to my windows media center. When was it that game consoles became computers?
