Out of Scripts
Last night I took the last of my medication. I went ahead and dialed the number for the Wal-Mart pharmacy and entered my Rx number. Along with mine, I also put in an order for my wife’s prescriptions as well.
Arriving at the pharmacy after work today, the woman behind the counter was able to find all but one script. She rang up the total and it came to over two hundred dollars! These are scripts that I usually pay about ten dollars each. Apparently the insurance company rejected the prescription and replied to them with a message about filing through mail-order.
Now I need to schedule to see a psychiatrist. This is going to cost us twenty dollars each for our co-pays. I’ll then have to send an order through mail for a full ninety days prescription. That will cost a little over ninety dollars. I’ll also have to make a request for speedy delivery for fifteen dollars.
In the mean time, I’m debating on going back to the pharmacy. I’m wondering if I can purchase only a weeks worth of pills at retail. I don’t want to go through withdrawal symptoms and splitting up my wife’s medication is just tedious.
