Pressed for space? A company called Gumstix has created a tiny computer running on the linux kernal that is the size of a pack of bubble yum gum. It’s amazing. The computers are geared towards robotic development, but hey – you could use them for anything really.
Prices range from $129 to $204. Now that is a cheap computer! There are two CPU speeds rite now as 200 MHz and 400 MHz. It comes with 64 MB SDRAM too. The higher priced models come with a Bluetooth Module.
I guess you can’t do much with 400 MHz these days outside of robotics or sensory equipment. This makes me wish that I knew something about robotics. Check out this picture with four of these things linked together:

Actually, gumstix aren’t so much geared towards robotix as they are just often used there. They’re a completely general-purpose linux computer, so you can really do anything you want with them, from router to iPod-like device to web server to you name it.
