Violation Notice and Correction Order
If things were not bad already, I start looking through my mail and notice an unopened letter from Prince William County addressed to me. I open it up and see big giant unfrendly letters: VIOLATION NOTICE AND CORRECTION ORDER. What on earth could this be? I start looking at the “multiple” violations that they have on me:
| PWC ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION | NATURE OF VIOLATION | CORRECTIVE ACTION REQUIRED |
| 32 - 250.61 | VIOLATION RE: KEEPING INOPERATIVE VEHICLE(S) | REMOVE ALL INOPERATIVE VEHICLES FROM PROPERTY |
| 32 - 300.01(1)(D) | PARKING ON AN UNIMPROVED SURFACE | REMOVE ALL VEHICLES FROM THE GRASS AND PARK ON IMPROVED SURFACE |

It looks like the Property Code Inforcement people started snooping around and saw my sister in-laws car without tags setting in the grass next to her boyfriends car. This is painful because I have no control over this stuff. These are not my vehicles.
My sister in-law is trying to get the car on the road, but she lost the title and can’t get tags for it. From the beginning I felt like all that would happen is that I would have a piece of junk laying about in my yard. I didn’t realize it was going to cause me any financial problems.
I have issues when it comes to breaking the law. I don’t want to have any part in it. Looking at the back, the following just brings me down even more:
Failure to correct the violation may result in one or all of the following: crimal charges being filed against you in the General District Court, civil action which would include a mandatory one hundred dollar ($100) fine every ten (10) days the violation exists, or an injunction being filed by this office against you.
Furthermore it goes to state that I can file an appeal with the Zoning Administrator within 30-days in writing with a filing fee of four hundred twenty-five dollars.
My sister in-law wants to call the people on Monday and see if she can get something straitened out. I doubt she can do anything except (a) send it to the junk yard, (b) get tags for it fast or (c) have someone else hold onto it. As for her boyfriends car, they are going to park it next to my car for now on rather then in the grass.

I feel for you, but I have to admit that I HATE it that my current neighbor does that. There are so many cars in his yard I thought about putting for sale signs on them because it looks like a used car lot… and the worst part, it really really brings property values down and we are trying to sell.

My neighbor accross the street has about 8 cars. I wonder if he got the same orders.

I am sure he did get notice…

8 cars… wow, sounds like my neighbor. If you find for sale signs on them then I live down the street, though it is much too green from what I have seen… plus my state has different initials.
