Technorati Tagger 3
It is time once again for another release of Technorati Tagger. This version has a fix for copying HTML when pasting into Firefox browsers. I’ve had problems using the “Compose” mode on Blogger.com’s editor, but now it is fixed up.
Along with the HTML fix, you can now visually see what tags are duplicates. I’ve changed the text box to be Rich-Text Formatted (RTF). All duplicate words are highlighted in red. Also, the tags are now case-insensitive. I personally rely on this feature very much since I just start typing tags like mad.

I created a little icon that looks like the technorati comment bubble and a tag over top of it. I hope the Technorati folks don’t mind.
Last, I added a link to my own blog so that everyone can check in on me from time to time. A little shameless promotion never hurt anyone. If you use the tagger utility, please leave a comment on this post. Thanks for your support.

One question. I’ve been doing my tags manually. When I have a two word tag, I was writing great+idea, but I see you just write “great idea” without the “+”. Does this mean my “+” was unnecessary all this time?

Actually, the program creates the encoded HTML for you. If you type “Great Idea” the following HTML will be created:
&tl;span class=”Tags”>Tags: <a href=”http://technorati.com/tags/Great+Idea” rel=”tag”>Great Idea</a></span>
Encoding all of those special characters were a big problem for me. I would have to take extra steps looking up everything. The same goes for HTML encoding as well. If you type an open or closed bracket, it will be HTML encoded for you as < >. Check out the results for “<Great Idea>”
<span class=”Tags”>Tags: <a href=”http://technorati.com/tags/%3cGreat+Idea%3e” rel=”tag”><Great Idea></a></span>
