Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Movie Review

AMC Movie Theatre
Today, I went to go see Star Wars with my mother in-law and my nephew. I suggested that we should go to the earliest show at 10am on Sunday in case there were any lines or some other problems that we were not expecting. She agreed but would have preferred to see a later showing.

We arrived at the theater and it appeared that there were only a few people in line to see the movie. Everything was quiet. Too quiet …

We walked up to the ticket agent and she responded that the 10 am showing was already booked. We got three tickets for the next showing at 11:15 am.

The movie itself was greate. It had all the graphics and special effects that you would expect from a blockbuster film. The storyline wasn’t really there. It was more of a link between the second episode and the fourth and sumed up a lot of unanswered questions as to how darth vader got his name, why he turned to the dark side, and how he became the twisted machine that we have all come to love.

We learn how the Jedi become wanted criminals, how the sith master’s face becomes deformed, and how the storm troopers turn against the jedi and come under the control of the republic senator.

I’m not complaining, but merely pointing out the fact that this movie has no plot. Or at least, I didn’t catch on to what the plot was.

As the movie starts out, we encounter an enemy who is mostly robotic, but has a living being underneith its mask. He coughs and has a hard time with his condition. My take on it was that this character is to show that Darth Vader is not a unique individual who has had this kind of treatment before.

Padimae’s death was an interesting one. Technically, she died at the mercy of no ones hand. The reason for her death though really shakes up Darth Vader with irony. I guess that matter may be the whole plot of the story.

My eyes hurt
The movie (or was it the previews) was just too long. The last hour of it was uncomfortable. I needed to take care of my business but I did not want to miss anything. I wouldn’t mind paying extra to skip the previews and just watch the movie. Of course, that is what DVD’s are for.

Walking out of the theater, my eyes were killing me. It was just a little too bright. I surfed the ‘net and found a nice collection of star wars wallpaper. I found one that gave me an idea. I plastered my face over an image of Obi Wan. My wife, Angel, caught me and started cracking up. She said that it makes me more attractive. I altered my image a little to make it appear that I am a sith with those ugly yellow eyes.

And one more thing…Luke asked Leia in the Return of the Jedi what her mother was like, and Leia answered that she was very beautiful but very sad…how would she know?!! she never knew her mother!! Oh, if only Peter Jackson directed the prequels..!!Lucas is so bad I want to cry!
