Lewie at work
I’m a really scrappy guy at work. I don’t shave often and my clothes are a mess. It’s a really classy environment. So how do I get away with it?
I’m a miracle worker. I have all the answers, or at least I can find them with speed. I am heavily multi-tasking throughout the day. If someone has a question, I stop what I am doing rite then and there and help them out.
It is a lot of hard work though. It beats my mind down from time to time to be doing so many things. What really beats me down most is if I am working on a difficult problem for which I can not see any leads to the answer for a long period of time.
This week has been a difficult one. With so many people communicating from different places and telecomuting, none of them can see that I’m working on other problems and that I’m busy. They do understand when I tell them, and a few even ask if I’m busy. When I am deep in thought on a problem, I get really agrivated when I see one of my messaging windows blinking for my attention. Argh … It’s tough to be smart.
It’s days like this when I just go home and go directly to bed. I do not pass “GO”. I do not collect $200.

Sometimes those are the worst. Everyone wants you working on their problem and don’t understand that you have a line like at Disneyland. You’re smart enough though, I’m sure you’ll take care of everything.

I’ve had one of “those” weeks, too. It IS tough when you’re good at what you do. And it IS okay to go home and go directly to bed. You can collect the $200 another day.
