Just way too much going on (rant)

Note: Every now and then I need to blow off steam. What better way then to tell the world about it? Any how, the following is a “Rant”. Please disregard. You have been warned.

I have so many things going on in my life rite now. To top it all off, my sleeping habits are really messed up. I come home from work and go strait to bed around 7pm. I then wake up around 1 or 2, stay up a few hours, and then “attempt” to go back to sleep until my alarm goes off at 9am. I feel as if I have no time to release stress.

I have the weekends to look forward to, but every time the weekend approaches, I’m finding out at the last minutes that I have to go and pick up my mother in-law, my niece, and my nephew to spend the day with us. I take a 30 minute trip down there, pick them up, come home, sleep, drive them pack home, and then come back home to sleep. If I don’t sleep, then I deal with the stress of being with the kids. Call me heartless, but it is just too much.

My sister in-laws boyfriend has moved in with us. He doesn’t have a job either, so now I’m supporting 3 adults and myself. I hear he has put in an application at the local gas station where my sister in-law was fired. Hopefully he gets the job and doesn’t get sick every day that he works there.

I get pretty fed up with many things as you can see. One of them is money issues. Isn’t it always? I must be the typical American. I’ve paid thousands of dollars for my sister in-law. Thinks like, paying for her to come back home after she decided to visit a boyfriend in Michigan. The boyfriend was too poor to afford a $75 bus ticket back home. Then there was another time where I paid about $600 to take care of a medical problem.

Recently I finished paying $777 for her lawyer and some fines. I paid the same amount for my wife. That comes to a total of $1554. I got my tax refund back from the IRS. I was expecting a little over $1,000. It came to about $2500. I wanted to buy a cheap projection screen HDTV for about $1100. Angel said “No”.

Can anyone see why I’m a bit upset here? I get way more extra cash then I expected and then I’m told that I can’t spend the extra money. I’ve been in a rut for the past two months due to this lawyer and court costs that were her and her sisters doing. Shouldn’t I be rewarded for staying out of trouble?

On top of that, I’m supposed to be paid back by my sister in-law for her share of the court, fine, and lawyer fees. That is an additional $777 dollars comming my way. Unfortunely, she lost the title to the car that a friend of hers purchased for her a while back, so it seems that she can’t sell it to bring in the cash that she was going to pay me with.

I remember having to buy my sister in-law a new mattress and box spring. Man, I’ve been buying these mattresses left and right for everyone. I think I’ve purchased six mattresses for my wife’s family since I met her. One day I’ll get a new one for myself.

Let’s see. There is the whole phone incident that goes on every now and then. I’m trying to sleep and I hear a knocking at one of the windows at 3am. My wife, my sister in-law and I go answer the door and find that it is Paul from down the street. My wife goes out to talk to him. I go back to sleep and wake up to a phone call. It’s Paul wanting to talk to my wife. I fall back asleep again and he calls again. I go downstairs to unhook all the phones and my wife goes on to explain why he is calling.

It appears that his two dogs ran away again. Angel found the dogs and brought them back. As punishment, Paul put the two dogs into there cages and sprayed the area heavy with Lysol. Angel couldn’t stand the smell and told him that he is mistreating his dogs. Paul is drunk at this time and pretty much gets upset with her comments. So she says she never wants to see him again.

I told her to call the Humane Society on him. She wont do it because then Paul will know it was her that called. It’s odd. She seems that she cares deeply about animals, but then she goes and lets them be tortured because she values human friendship more. But on top of that, she severed her friendship anyway.

Usually it is guys calling my sister in-law constantly at all hours of the night. Now guys are calling my wife. I’ve changed my phone number twice in the past because of this. I wish that I could just get rid of the phone all together. I don’t really use it much myself. I have my own cell phone. I keep the phone so that my wife can call her friends across the country with a flat monthly fee.

My mother in-law keeps drilling this phrase to me “Family comes first” or “You take care of your family”. It’s getting to the point where I feel like the family isn’t taking care of me. I’m being taken advantage of a lot.

There is tons more where this came from, but I just got to stop. I’m just irritated beyond words.

yikes. it sucks being taken advantage of. i’ve been leached upon finacially by friends, a husband, family, and every roommate i’ve ever had. hate it, hate it, hate it.

Some people just take advantage of others as long as they continue to say yes all the time to them.

The only people in my life now are the most important ones to me: my kids and my partner as well as some online friends. Everyone else can just go and do one, lol ;)

I’ve often found that I’m the same way. I give and give and give and then wonder why I’m not getting back. I also learned, through a previous marriage, that if I didn’t get anything in return to start with, I never would. I wish you luck.

I’m so sorry you have all that stuff to deal with. Is your sister-in-law and her boyfriend getting any government assistance? That is a tricky situation. I’ve got awful money troubles but I do everything to support myself; it’s not right that your sister-in-law and her boyfriend aren’t doing more to help out. Maybe you could insist on everyone having separate bank accounts? I don’t know if that would even work, hmm.

Lewie my man, its time to drop the hammer on this situation. Disconnect the phone service, let your wife use Skype to talk to her friends around the country.

Tell freeloading family and boyfriends to hit the road jack. Tell any man who calls on your wife in the middle of the night to get the @#$% away or you will bust his grill and most of all, take control of your life man. Whatever it takes.

I would certainly not call you heartless for wanting to do something for YOURSELF for a change. You have to look out for number one every now and then, right?

Your family members need to get lives of their own. I hope you are able to get your HDTV someday. I tell you what–If I ever win the lottery, I’ll have one delivered straight to your door!
