Spyware.ABCKeylogger - JPGUtils.dll
I have been running blind since September with an expired subscription for my Anti-Virus software. I purchased System Works 2005 about 2 or 3 months ago, but hadn’t gotten around to installing it. I installed it last night and set it up to start searching for viruses.
I woke up this morning to see that it detected 8 threats. 7 were from my remote administration software. Since I installed this software myself and use it regularly, I was already aware of it and decided to keep it. 1 threat was from JPGUtils.dll.
I was a bit confused about this one and started looking at Spyware.ABCKeylogger on the Symantec site. It described all of the files involved, but JPGUtils.dll was not one of those files. Now that was odd.
I googled the terms and found a forum where others are concerned that this is a false positive. It appears to have something to do with Stardocks LoginStudio. This program lets you change your login screen for windows xp. I used it a long time ago.

Check out ClamWin Anti-virus at http://www.clamav.net
ClamWin is open-source and is one of the best products at sniffing out trojans.
ClamWin’s only drawback is that it doesn’t scan files as they come in.
One of its biggest positives is that it is usually updated before the big Avs.

My Norton just turned up jpgutils, I am using Stardock’s LoginStudio. Even with that file gone, everything is working fine as for as my logon screen is concerned.
