Haloscan Gravatar Program
I gave my little Gravatar program a major overhaul this weekend. So many things are done for me now. This program is almost ready to be released to the public. I still have a few more tweaks and bugs to roll out though.
I can choose if I want to open an XML file in CAIF format that I had saved earlier, or just download the current comments from my HaloScan account directly.

The next part lets me setup how I want my gravatars to look (Size, border, rating, default URL). I can even preview a gravatar by specifying the email address and hitting “Test”. The gravatars URL is built for me, so I can copy and paste that into my web pages as well. One thing I have noticed is that borders do not appear to be supported just yet.

Next comes the template. I got a lot of little tags to help me create some really cool tables and such. There is an extra form that goes into detail for what the different tags mean. I’ll show a larger version of it to help you get the idea of its power.

I added some filters so that I could choose to display only people who have gravatars. There is another one that lists only the people who specified a web address. I made sure to add in some date range filters so that I could see just the people who have commented within the last month or so.

Finally, there is a section that lets me write the files as HTML or JavaScript files. I write a JavaScript file so that I didn’t have to keep modifying my template every time I wanted to update the list. I also have the ability to sort people by there name, the number of comments they left, and if they have a gravatar or not.

Hello, Lewis Moten, sir,
I like your name, Lewis Moten. Moten. Lewis Moten. What is a gravatar? I hate gravatars. I hate them.
Thank you,

If you have your comments in CAIF format, then it will work with that. As far as the Mac port goes, I think I can work on it. I have a Mac in the living room that I use for testing things on and I hear there are a lot of stable ports for the CLR such as Mono.
