Gravatar Awareness
Ok my friends, it has been a few days since I have introduced you to Gravatars. It appears that seven of my friends have signed up. Here is the deal - every now and then I will post a link to your site from mine when listing people who have commented on my site. I’m a programmer, so I have the ability to filter out who has a Gravatar icon and who doesn’t.
If you want to be on this list, then you not only have to comment here, but you also have to get your own gravatar icon. It’s simple, it’s free. Oh, and I sort these icons by the number of comments you leave. So the more comments you post, the closer to the top of the list that you will appear.
I’ll try and make this a weekly thing, but I’m not making any promises. Here are my commenters with gravatar icons so far:

In case you are wondering, I do not get anything for signing people up for Gravatars. I just really want to see these things in use. They make my comments so much nicer to read and it is easier to recognize who is comming back.

I actually like to click on them to visit blogs. It is so much nicer then to look at a blogroll of text links.

I agree - I think they are so much fun! They not only dress up my comment box a bit, they make it easy to see who is commenting on my favorite blogs - it’s fun running into people you “know” out there in the blogosphere.

Thanks for the info on the Gravatars, yeah they are kinda kuel!! You wanted to know what kind of scary animal I had on my site….He is called a Philippine Tarsier, I thought he was quite unusual

Actually I’m a strange bird as I have 2 gravatars Lewis - one to represent each of my 2 blogs. The pic you listed above is associated with DeepFriedHotdogs. The pic that appears on this post is associated with my political blog. I probably used the wrong email addy.
