Two Cent Deposit

I logged into my online banking account and saw that I had a deposit from Wal-Mart for $0.02. I don’t know why they owed me some money. I didn’t make any formal complaints to them. I just thought it was odd that they would go through the trouble to compensate me for two pennies. But then again, my brother had a collection agency after him once for 5 cents. I guess Wal-Mart was avoiding my harassment before I found out about it and socked a collection agency on them.

i’d call wal mart and tell them “listen, if i wanted your two cents, i’d have asked for it…” haha…

*sigh* it sounded funnier in my head.

Weird!! A week or so ago, I had the same thing happen from Wal Mart. I think they credited five cents or so.. but I have no idea why!

Watch out for false charges on your credit card, then - It’s possible someone inside the company is validating cards to prepare for charging them, stealing them for some other purpose…

    Of course, I’m a paranoid S.O.B….

Five cents? I’ve heard a lot of things, but never that a collection agency would go after someone for five cents. After all, it costs hundreds of dollars just to hire on of these people.

Wal-Mart sells some shoddy products. I bought a lavalamp from them that exploded and caused $560 worth of damage. They paid in full, but I didn’t see those lavalamps there the next time I stopped by.

I always figure that they give accounts to collection agencies in bulk. My brother would complain to them that it costs them more to just talk to him then if he gave them the 5 cents - which he didn’t actually owe. It turns out they owed him and they decided to just drop the case.
