Rain, Rain, Go Away …

I got up this morning and new it was going to be a slow and nasty day. The sky was grey and it was humid. Driving into work, I came upon the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route One) and Cardinal. I saw police cars all around and blocking access to Northbound traffic on Route One. I looked at the lights and they were blinking red. Policemen were in the center of the intersection wearing heavy yellow jackets and directing traffic.

At first, I figured an accident had happened. I then realized that the bridge crossing Neabsco Creek had been flooded again. I took a lengthy and time consuming detour. I even missed my exit to get on 95 North HOV lanes, but it paid off. The HOV lanes were backed up as I got closer to D.C.

Go away rain.
