Over blogged and underrated
After working on my blogging document for the past two days, I am up to 6,000 words. That means that I’m about 10% done with my little book. I have covered many topics so far and filled in some basic information. I’ll have to go in and extend on some of that information later on, but I’m having fun finding new topics to write about in the book.
I think the biggest problem plaguing most bloggers (including myself) is how to attract traffic. Traffic exchanges such as BlogAzoo, BlogExplosion, BlogClicker, and BlogCrowd seem to help out with driving hits to your blog. I feel like I’m becoming a mindless zombie just clicking through each page after twenty seconds pass.
A few people suggest that leaving comments help. Yea, they do - but these sites are usually the same ones that I found through a traffic exchange. This pretty much means that there is a good chance that they have already seen my blog within the rotation. Leaving comments is great as long as the author of the blog you are leaving feedback on does not participate in any of the traffic exchanges that I already use.
I think the only thing left to generate more hits is to start promoting myself outside of the blogosphere.
Search engines seem to be sending a few hits my way, but it isn’t enough to make any special mention of it. The two most popular terms that people are coming to my site for is “Jib Jab” and “Mitch Hedberg”.

You COULD just pay $5 for a ton of credits and skip the whole surfing business…
I got tired of surfing rather quickly; it took away from actually BLOGGING (not to mention real life). Ever wonder why my site pops up all the time? $5 here, $5 there… LOL
Now I basically just surf the sites of people who comment, as well as my regular reads!

Yea, I’ve thrown a lot of money at the traffic exchanges as well. They do help with hits, but after the credits run out, you need to plug in more money.
