I used to have a job where I worked at night. I would go to different farm houses and look up at the stars and the moon. This was around that time when the HalBop comet was around, so I had a clear view of it all.
On one night, I looked up and saw an awe inspiring sight. The moon had shown in such a way that a large ring of light could be seen encircling it. I immediately thought “Moon Halo”. Googling Moon Halo shows that many people coined the same term. Some of those pictures are amazing.
Since that day, I have looked up more often at the night sky hoping that I would see it again. About eight years have passed and tonight I saw it. It wasn’t as strong, but it was still there. I also tried to take a picture of it, but my camera didn’t do to well focusing on the moon.
