LA Weight Loss

I went to an appointment for LA Weight Loss today. My wife and sister in-law copped out and didn’t go. They rescheduled my appointment yesterday to be 30 minutes later – all for nothing.

I filled out some paperwork and then had a long chat with one of the counselors there. She was nice and had a picture of herself before she went on the program. Big difference. I got weighd, had blood pressure taken, and had some measurements. We went over the ideas and phases of the plan and I expressed my concerns over simple meals that are easy to make. When it came down to the price, it wasn’t so bad as another place I went to, but they did ask for it all up front. I couldn’t afford it and we agreed that I would pay some money from my debit/credit card for the next few months. I left with a bag of juice and a plan of suggestive eating for the next two days for the first part of the plan. I would meet again on monday.

I sat in the car for 20 minutes looking over the suggestions. It seems I’m off to cooking again. All of the foods listed for there suggested meals, I was bound to buy too much stuff that I didn’t need for the next 2 days. I headed into the grocery store near by and as I expected, was confused with what to buy. I got iceburg lettuce as well as romain. 2 cucumbers, fresh brocoli crowns … how much, I do not know. I just bagged them and went on.

I went over to the steaks and couldn’t beleive the prices. Its going to cost $10 for a meal … ouch. And that is just for the steak in the meal. I got a pack of checken breasts figuring a chicken strip was just a chicken breast cut up. Man … I was going out of my head. How much do I buy? A Pound? Two? I got a large one and figured I would split it with the girls.

I was also looking for scallops and scallions. I figured one was a green vegitable but I couldn’t find anything with either name. The counselor said that the other was some kind of sea food that was white. I looked over in the fresh seafood section and couldn’t find anything with either name. I did find the cooked shrimp though. I’ll have to talk with her on Monday and explain the confusion that I had gone through. I’m used to buying a package, nuking it, and then I eat. With this diet, I’m having a hard enough time shopping. I also couldn’t find the salt. She specifically mentioned that I needed to use Morton Lite Salt. I spent 10 minutes looking at all the salts and then looking through the spices for this. Not a trace.

Later in the day I called mom and mentioned that I bought into the plan anyway. She wished me luck, but I could tell she wasn’t too pleased. She did mention where she buys the salt for my other sister in-law who is on the diet. Well, let’s see how this goes. I’m not giving up yet – Day 1 begins tomorrow. By July 7th, I will make it below 200 lbs.

Hey! Check this out too. Carbs were keeping me from dropping the pounds and my friend turned me onto a “carb blocker”.

There’s other stuff on there too but this is all I’ve used. Any other suggestions?
