I’m Back!

Sunday, October 31st, 2004

I attended a large bon fire this weekend and picked up five tarot decks to add to my collection. All the driving has killed me though. It’s a five hour trip to Clarksburg, West Virginia from here. I was driving like a maniac on some of those back roads up there and scaring the living daylights out of my brother and Becky. I also got to see parts of the new movie Van Helsing - It looked pretty wild. I was able to go through the whole party without touching any food such as the candy, cup cakes, and all the other sweets that were laying around all over the house. Tempting … but I succeeded.

Going away this weekend

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

If you can’t get enough “All Lewie, All the Time”, then I have some bad news. I’m taking off this weekend to go celebrate the new year at a friends house in the sticks. He will have a large bon fire and plenty of drinks and food. Let’s see if I can resist the temptation of fate with this new diet.

I’ll be back Sunday night … I hope.

My friend owns a book store on the internet and can also be found on amazon. Check his site out: Log House Books

My IQ is 129

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

My IQ is 129 according to the classic IQ test at Tickle. It looks like I might be above average - but then again, who knows. It’s a test from the internet after all. Nothing official. I wonder what the highest is. These folks wanted me to buy a detailed report to see how I measure up against others and other detailed information. For $12.95, I’m not stupid enough to fall for that one. They probably subtrack a point or two if you buy the report. Plus a free 7-day trial membership is included to there service. My god - that bites. It’s like you have to call them rite up and cancel the membership as soon as you make the order.

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Insightful Linguist. This means you are highly intelligent and have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. And that’s just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Lost one fifth of a pound

Friday, October 29th, 2004

I got on the scale today and it read 266.6 pounds. It was 266.8 on Wednesday, so this means that I only lost one fifth of a pound in the past two days. Each time I go in there, I’m losing less weight. Good news is that I’ve lost 4.4 pounds since Saturday - so that is a bit more then the safe “2 pound limit” per week. The counslor is hoping that I’ll lose two to three pounds by the next time I see her on Monday.

I’m thinking that I need to do more exercising or something. Today I walked the car garage with Engin twice - about 15 minutes each time. Normally we would walk around the pond in front of the office, but it was a rainy day today. A few of my co-workers invited me to lunch, but I declined due to the diet. Sure … I could have gone with them, but the diet thing is so new that I didn’t want to mess it up. I didn’t bring my fast tracker either, so I would be lost trying to figure out what is ok for my meal.

I picked up another box of bars when I left so that I can have a variety with the cookie dough bars. I had a lemon bar for my afternoon snack, so I picked out a box of lemon bars. These things melt quicker then the other bars, but they sure are tasty.

I dropped the bars in my car and then walked back to the petco next door. I got my 20 pound bag of nutro and asked for another application for a petco card. This works out great because this petco is rite next to a location that I’m guarenteed to visit often. Before this diet, the only petco I knew of near me was in the next county near my mother in-law. Now I can do this deal “Buy 10 bags, get one free”.

So I dropped off the cat food and then headed to the safeway grocery store next to petco (convienent little place, isn’t it?). I got out some money to cover my wife this weekend while I make a trip to a friends house for a bon fire party. I then proceeded to buy all the items that my wife asked for on Wednesday. I even found her produce peanuts - but it was mixed with the new brand that the other Safeway was selling. I guess they will stop selling the Produce brand once they run out.

After getting the food, I then walked over to Block Buster. Van Helsing was sold out. I picked up Kaena: The Prophecy and Soul Plane. Kaena was pretty cool. It was a computer animation film made in Paris. I would have to say that it fits within the Final Fantasy area with science fiction and was also started out as a video game. It didn’t become a video game, but the movie is great.

There are so many visuals that are just stunning. Creatures are made of flowing sap. Characters have long hair that moves like hair. Movement is very fluid and human. Even the expressions on the faces are great. Final Fantasy looked really funny when it came to facial expressions - especially when the characters talked. Kaena was awesome - but the movements were for French words, so it didn’t exactly match what she said in English.

The story behind Kaena is amazing. She has such character. She is a woman from a primative tribe living in what looks to be vines every where. She doesn’t take to the daily life of collecting sap for the gods or tending to the oversized worms for eating as the rest of the viligers and is very curiouse about what lies beyond the clouds.

If you like flicks such as Final Fantasy, or Japenese Anima - I suggest that you should look into viewing Kaena: The Prophecy

Free IPods update

Friday, October 29th, 2004

Ok, so far twelve people have signed up for free ipods but didn’t complete the offers. However, I’m reading through posts stating some confusion over this program. It seems that you must first verify your email address before doing the offer. If you have gone through my ipod link and are also having problems, please let your websites visitors know about this little bug.

Haloscan Comments

Friday, October 29th, 2004

I’ve been reading a lot of blogs and noticed that a lot of people have been complaining about blogger.com when it comes to comments. Blogger.com requires users to create a blog before they can post a comment. I’ve had a simular issue with live journal. Well … I’ve gone and changed my commenting system to use HaloScan.

She’s lookin for trouble

Thursday, October 28th, 2004

Angel wanted a candy bar from my plan and I replied that they were expensive. She made a comment like “Oh, I’m not worth it” or something. The bars go for about $2 a piece. With the discount I got, they go for about $1.60. Plus - these are all figured into my plan. I feel bad, because I know she is interested and curious. I think the issue with money really upset her.

Sometimes I’m cute, and other times I’m in hot water. I think the events leading up to the moment though were just setting her up. If I would say anything, she may have found a way to turn it around to be negative anyway.

So what were the events? I went shopping, but didn’t get anything for her. No snackwells, no nothing. The main reason for this is that I didn’t go to the walmart in Fredricksburgh - thus saving me one hour and twenty miniutes of driving. I had nine dollars cash, and a wal-mart charge card. The Wal-mart up here doesn’t sell groceries.

Next event - I was on the phone with her mother for a long time when she was expecting a call.

Next event - She got upset that I didn’t buy any snackwells.

Next event - I bought skim milk instead of 2% milk. They still had some milk when I left. The skim milk was just for my diet. (sorry hun) Plus the real shopping is tomarrow. I’ve delayed some plans so that it could be done.

Well, it seems I’ve been doing a few things wrong rite after another. Making it up now would only make it worse, so I’ll see what I can do about it tomorrow.

Package Arrived

Thursday, October 28th, 2004

I came home today and the two girls were watching the latest episode of Dead Like Me, (my favorite series). On the sofa next to my sister in-law was a nice brown package with the Amazon.com arrow on the sides. I opened it up and there was a nice little box inside - “Golden Tarot”. I opened the little box (the top slides off) and saw my preciouse gold tilted cards. Each one was a masterpiece. I liked how the cards were thick and heavy. They were a little oversized, but it didn’t bother me too much. The book fit nicely with the cards in the box.

I don’t expect these cards to expand much over time due to the thickness and large size, so they should fit nicely in the box while they are in my care. One reason is that it would be hard to simply shuffle these cards like a normal playing deck. Also, I dont think that others would bend the cards as they are turned over.

Another item in the box was a book, “No plot? No problem!”. This book was advertised with the nano competition that I’m preparing for next month. I’ll get around to looking at it …

Some women wear too much perfume

Thursday, October 28th, 2004

*gasp* The air is heavy with perfume. My buildings janitor just arrived. She must be the substitute janitor. I am usually letting an older guy in to clean up. I don’t know why some women have to dump so much perfume on. Maybe she is after a guy in the next building and can’t get close enough to make eye contact. Or maybe she is trying to cover something else from smelling. What ever the reason, I can’t wait until she leaves the office.

Nano Prep

Wednesday, October 27th, 2004

I tried to write a preface for my novel in preperation for Nano and to get an idea of what the novel will be about. So far, I only got 540 words. My target was 2000. This i taking some time. My creative juices are not flowing as well as I had hoped. One great thing I discovered tonight - blogcafe. I was able to start up a blog that allows me to order entries oldest first. Why is this good? Because I’m writing a book. I would like each chapter to follow each other in the proper order. I was going to write it over at my other blog - I still might just post to both of them.
