Free IPods - are they really?
I’m not sure if this deal is real. I was browsing through some of the blogs that refered visitors to mine and saw one advertising a free ipod. The guy (Tim) said it was legit and that you just need to sign up for a free AOL account. Apparently his news was fresh (Dated from this past Monday). I went through the sign-up process and was presented with about 15 offers that I just answer yes or no to. Two of them that looked ok were from BMG and DirectTV - however I was looking for AOL. The AOL offer was not on the list. I just answered “No” to everything.
Finally after the little survey I was asked if I wanted to refer the offer to any of my friends. I chose to skip that step. Next, the list was finally available with the AOL(r) 9.0 with Music Net. Tim mentioned that all you do is sign up for it - and after about 3 days, your account is credited as to buying into that offer. Then, you call up AOL and tell them that you want to cancel the account. An additional comment he posted was that AOL requires a credit card in order to sign up.

So far, I’ve only told the site my name and the address to ship the IPod to. I haven’t had to enter my credit card information yet.
Well, I’ll try this out for a little bit and see if it goes anywhere. If you are interested in getting a free IPod (or an IPod mini), then head on over to the survey and take them up on one of there offers. I’m trying the AOL offer rite now. I wrote down the toll free number to call when I need to cancel my account (if i want to) at 1-800-827-6364. My screen name is lewie75. So send me an email sometime at lewie75@aol.com
When I signed up for AOL, I also downloaded the software (500kb). Running the software looks at my system and then downloads the complete package. I was able to login to aol.com’s website before I downloaded the software.
By the way - Tim said he got all 5 people to sign up on wednesday (only 3 days). Hopefully we can all do the same.
